Shifting from 4wd to 2wd

I used to do it and it worked. Once I started getting aggressive tunes it wouldn't do it anymore and because I blow the tires off on the 1-2 shift and often on the 2-3 shift in 2wd I just leave it in 4wd the entire time. I think it depends on the throttle position during shifts. If it closes it creates vacuum which is needed to pull the hubs out. My tunes don't let off so there's not enough vacuum to pull the hubs out.
My truck had no reliability problems with shifting out under WOT.

I responded in the Ecoboost times thread to this. Mine will shift out, or at least the transfer case does. If I shift out just after the 1-2 shift it will get rear end tire bark on the 2-3 shift. If I leave it in AWD or 4wd the whole way it won't. And even though I haven't ran at the track, my Aeroforce gauge performance feature says I get 2-3 mph faster trap speed if I shift it out.

Well that sucks I have a 2012 fx4. A buddy of mine has a 2013 fx4 and says his will shift out. Im getting a pretty solid pop from something in the 4x4 slipping at wot around 50mph on my 93 tune. I was hoping I would be able to shift out and avoid this issue and still be able to have fun.
