SCT TUNED 5.0, now cooling fan stays on

cool. let me know what you come up with. I kinda got pissed off after buying it and finding out I couldnt use it right away, so it became a back burner item. if I can use the canned tunes I'd like to, but I am not putting much effort into it since I know my ultimate goal is custom tunes anyway.

I went with SCT simply because of the aftermarket support. it seems most of the reputable tuners in both the mustang and F150 world prefer the SCT. I am not building a racecar I just want some easy mods that get me nice results. the SCT "seemed" to fit that bill, and once I have the $$$ for some custom tunes I am sure it will.

2012 5.0. 100% stock.
bought a SCT 3015 tuner. not custom tunes, just canned. tried to install 91 octane tune. install went fine. start truck and cooling fan comes on immediately. went for a drive, fan stayed on entire time. let truck cool down, then start again, fan still on.

The custom tunes we build for your truck do not do this, but you will have to spend additional money so definitely contact them if you haven't already.
PM for forum discount if you do want to go with custom tunes though.

Wish I had found this thread before I bought the 3015 because now my truck is doing the same thing. Have any of you gotten this corrected? Or heard when it will be because I see the date on this thread is from over a month ago. Any of you keep running the tunes anyway? Essentially it'd be like driving with ac always on no?
Thanks
Thanks

I know some of the people from SCT when I had my 2013 Mustang done by them. They're really smart and great great people to work with. I'll shoot my guy a text and let him know about this. I just updated my #3015 SF3 tuner, but am yet to plug it into my 2013 5.0. I'll see if they'd like to use my truck to do diagnostics with.... maybe get another freebie tune/dyno done
Thanks,
Casey

I've been in email communication with SCT for this issue. The person I'm talking to said that they hadn't heard of the issue and had me send him my stock tune so they could look at it and see if they could correct their settings. Hopefully it'll get somewhere since I'm not sure if the fan running nonstop will hurt anything or not.
"I have not heard of that issue before. A few questions to help us narrow this down. Have you tried installing a different tune, like the 91, or 93 octane tune? If so, does this issue occur again?
Thanks,

Hey James,
Do you have the SCT device update software? If you do, could you use that program to “get stock files from device” and send me that file. I would like to open a ticket to get this issue resolved for you.

Just wanted to give everyone the final update I got from SCT on this.
"I have forwarded your file to my engineers. I do believe they are aware of the issue and they are telling me that they should have it fixed in the next update. I could fix it for you right now if you do not want to wait for the update. I think the update should be out in the new week or two.
