You told the guy to put e85 in his tank. Something that the manufacturer says absolutely do not do. There are reasons why they state things like this in owners manuals. Remember, every single warning label/message has a story behind it. If it says don't then it's because someone did or at least thought about it.

Ok I get where your coming from, sometimes there is almost 100% a story whether its harmful, or bad fuel economy, cost saver or political etc.. I just figured the op had a decent amount of common sense to address the low octane, and I did say maybe to get the octane level up as a little richer ethanol blend will help with knock/detonation. Of course my truck is 100% flex fuel and the ecos are not. I am over 10 just barely lol ! and just celebrated my 30 year anniversary with my wife, never have swam with sharks, but love shark week!
