I know how you feel. I just bought my 2013 truck in January. I waffled on the idea for a long time and finally just went for it. If you get one from 5 star, you will love it.

This thread ultimately helped me in making my decision. Particularly what was written by motox151. What he says made sense to me. good luck in your decision.

If you think the 87 brings the 5.0 to life. You really need to try out his 91 or 93 tune. I'm glad my budget is use to buying diesel, so the 93 gas is no shock to me.

If I wanted to try out the 91 tune, would I have to somehow get my fuel tank completely dry first? Or is a couple gallons of 87 residual going to be ok to mix with 91 octane?

I get 12.3mpg but that is because I am running 35" Trail Grapplers with a 2"Level.

You must be on the throttle A LOT more than me. I run 35 inch tires with a 2 inch level as well. Truck is a Screw 4x4 and I am averaging 14.5mpg in town driving. I was getting 14mpg before I got the tune.

I do have to practice some self control. It's a blast to drive since I installed the tuner. I have the 3.55 gears

Yes, A few gallons in a 36gal tank is not going to hurt anything. I ran a 91 tune on my 2011 Eco and I topped it off at about 3/4 empty and had no issues.

With the 5* 87 - with 2.5 level, 285/65/20's BFG, I'm getting 16mpg but that is mostly interstate.
