Default SCT canned tunes 5.0

Gas stations around here have 87 89 and 92, SCT options are 87 91 and 93...so should I stick with 87?

No you can put 93 for 92 or buy custom tune .

I'd suggest custom tunes for that 92.

If the best you can get is 92 then run the canned tune for 91, not 93. Also, like everyone else said, get a custom tune for the 92. I highly recommend 5 Star.

Yeah I just durrr'd that one. The 92 on the 91 tune would work great if you don't want to do custom yet.

Where for customs, depends on what you want to do.

I just want a safe tune...nothing crazy..just better throttle response & acce. and shifting..to help with large tires..not hard shifts or red lining every time it shifts I've seen one five star video and there cranking to i think 7k rpms I don't want anything that far

Sounds like if you want custom you want a "tow" tune. Nothing crazy, just like you said and should help with bigger tires.

The best bang for the buck IMHO is the 5* 87. It will make the 5.0 come to life!

+1 I could not agree more. I got my SCT tuner from 5 star and I can't believe the difference it made in my 5.0. Everything that people say about the performance increase is 100% true. I love mine! The custom tunes mike made for me take into account my larger tires and now my odometer and speedo are correct as well. Not to mention, i picked up 1mpg in town and my truck is just a complete joy to drive. I run the 87 perf/tow tune. Save yourself some money now and just buy the tuner from 5 Star. You get custom tunes from them for very little money when u take into account the fact that they charge $105 for one or $160 for two custom tunes if u buy the tune elsewhere and THEN decide to get tunes from them.
