I think I'd rather have the unit be tapped fi a source that turns off and on when ignition power is found instead of the half attempt the unit is doing.

Just wanted to update you here:
Our personal Ecoboost was found with a no start after a day of not driving. This was not the first time it's sat without driving but it was the first time for the no-start. My belief is that the cold weather had an impact and explains why previously sct was not able to recreate this issue while others in colder states were having it happen.

Thanks to a nice cold front SCT is aware of the issue and working on a fix. Typically when there is an issue that needs to be resolved it is fixed through a firmware update and the update will be loading by using the SCT Updater Software. Free, just return to stock and update.

I do not know of any ETA or specific details, but it is good to hear that they are aware of the issue and it is being worked on.

Again, for now if you are planning on not driving daily power it off manually or unplug it.

Mike, thanks for getting back to us and letting us know that SCT is aware of the issue. About two weeks ago I sent my unit back to SCT because they wanted to be able to check out the unit and do some testing on it. Now, with your statement above, I am hopeful that they will have a solution soon. I also don't think that the cold weather had anything to do with it, it is possible, but I live in Tucson Arizona and when I was experiencing the condition we were having hundred degree days. Shoot, it's November 1st and our temperatures are still hitting 85 to 90°. Anyway, thanks Mike for the information it is appreciated.

I'm having the same issue. This morning was day #2 in a row the truck would not start. Draining the battery completely dead.

I drove the truck yesterday. Parked in the garage at 4pm. Went to start it up this morning at 8:30am, dead. multimeter shows 7.4volts

16.5hrs it sat. full charged to completely dead. I've had the battery checked and it is good. Issue is with the livewire unit drawing down the battery. The screen does turn off, but it continues to draw current.

Very upset, as I spent the extra money over the SF3 tuner, yet essentially have an overpriced SF3 tuner as I can't leave it plugged in.

Replied to your other post on this topic as well.
SCT is aware of the issue and the fix is pending, if all goes well the new firmware will be released and should be available via the auto update SCT Device Updater.

Just FYI, there was an update released today that includes a fix for the draining battery issue.

Return to stock, and run the SCT Auto Update.

Really?!? I have that issue, it blows me away that this thing can possibly draw enough current to run the battery dead in the time it does. Mine is about 22 hours. 21 and it will start but not like it, 22 no go. I called and sct said they knew about the issue, he also said they would notify me when an update was issued, so much for that.

So issue still has not been resolved? I lost complete faith in the unit after battery died over a dozen times. Now I don't even turn it on. Should have never paid the extra cash for a heads up unit

Don't think borjeb was saying that the update didn't fix the issue, but was merely expressing his surprise this was ever an issue in the first place.

Try out the update and let us know how it goes

Yeah I was surprised it was an issue, and that they didn't "notify" me when a fix was issued. I haven't updated yet, question though, should I return to stock before updating or does it matter.
