review of livewire ts and issue i already have
Unit purchased from 5star. Customer service and product is great. Got it in mail and drove 400 miles with 200 of it on 87 tune, then switched to 93.... Wow what a difference.
I'll write more specifics as far as every detail in both tunes when I'm not posting from and android.
Problem I encountered is that this unit is supposed to have an auto shut down mode. Unit shuts down, but apparently its still drawing power and after parking the truck after my trip I got back to it with a dead battery. Nothing else was done to truck and it has only 1000 miles on it total. Hopefully sct or someone can look into this. I will call mike up and see what he thinks, but it seems that the unit is so new that particulars to this unit is still in a learning process.

You're not the only one. I am also having an issue with the LiveWire putting a load on the battery. While the screen does turn off after two minutes you can still see that there is a load on the battery with a digital multimeter. I started looking into this because one morning I woke up to a dead battery. I have no doubt in my mind that it is the LiveWire unit that is causing the Drain. While monitoring my digital multimeter, I disconnected the LiveWire unit and saw that the load on the battery had stopped. When reconnecting the LiveWire unit the voltage begins to drop again. I sent Mike an email at five star tuning (bought my unit at five star) and Mike says, that he has not heard of this and that he's had the unit on his truck for the last three weeks with no issues.

I checked with multimeter as well and it's definitely pulling amps while off. I noticed that while shutoff on auto there is a led light that is constantly on on the right port. For now I manually shutdown and left the connection on and we shall see.
This needs to be addressed immediately by sct

Keepin' the lights on!
FWIW, when Edge first came out with a tuner for the F150s back in '08ish they had that problem too.

Just got off the phone with SCT and the gentleman that I talk to in technical support said that he's never heard of this. He did take down my information and said that he was going to take it up the chain in hopes to learn more. He said he would get back to me on this as soon as he could. I'm wondering if we're the only ones with this issue? Maybe, others are having the same issue and just not noticing it because they are driving their trucks daily. I know with my LiveWire unit it takes about a day and a half before the battery won't start the truck.

I don't have the 'TS', but my SCT Livewire (9600?) I bought back in 2007 for my FX4 (now on the GT) will kill the battery in a weekend if you don't unplug it.
Didn't like it, but didn't think it had a defect or anything.

Question i may be ignorant on this tuner but where does it draw power from? a 12 volt socket *lighter slot* or do you have to tap into something? Because when i did my amps for my sub/speakers i tapped into a 12 volt in the mini breaker panel in the kickpanel on passenger side that it will stay on while the door is shut but key is out but soon as i open door amps shut off and wont let the amps draw power.

After 2 minutes it goes into sleep mode and then after 2 days of inactivity it will power off completely. If you are using your truck regularly, the battery will be just fine on the sleep mode but as mentioned above it could drain certain batteries to no-start conditions. If you know you won't be driving the truck it's probably a good idea to power it off manually within device settings or unplug from obdii.
You're right about one thing. After two days I did find my unit completely turned off.... Because the battery was dead! LOL
I do appreciate you taking the time and trying to help us out.
