Default Reminder: Clean your throttle body!

2011 5.0 with 73k. Was doing some other work tonight and removed the air tube. Throttle body was filthy! Took maybe 20 min to clean with some carb cleaner and a rag.

Test drove it and noticed smoother idle, better feel in the gas pedal, smoother acceleration. Hoping for mpg gains as well

Exclamation

*HEADS-UP* for those considering cleaning the throttle body .....

DO NOT use carb' cleaner. FoMoCo throttle bodies have a protective coating to minimize residue buildup and carb' cleaner will remove it. MEANING: You will need to clean the throttle body more often.

Also ... Carb' cleaner can cause deterioration of not only sensor seals, but also throttle shaft seals.

Recommendation is to use a throttle body cleaner.

How long does it take to remove all the parts for access to the TB? I'm just trying to plan it out so I know what to expect. Please tell me its not a 5 hour job...
