I guess I am. Seeing you and I bought trucks to not certainly be race car drivers in them LOL. the OP worded it as "just bolt on a supercharger", so I'm assuming you will do it at the dealer as the ecoboost truck comes from. There is what a $1500 difference in comparable trucks from the dealer? JPC Racing does the tuning for my 5.0 but thanks. So lets say $7000 difference even $4000 difference do you think the ecoboost motor could be competitive in that budget? Just my opinion man, like I said I would love to see what a roushcharged f150 in a 6000lb truck would do. I would think we could easily see that happen before an ecoboost "$600 tuned motor in a RCSB..agree??
many ways to make power and it very well may be that ultimately the 3.5 can hold together making more power than the 5.0. I just hate that it always seems to come back to EB vs 5.0...we all bought good trucks with good engines whether EB or 5.0.

yes, I do think that for $4,000, yes an eco would be very competitive with a well tuned 5.0 with a roush supercharger.

sorry bro but the thread started that way. The OP was asking if the EB has some growing room in the aftermarket, that still has to be determined by how much. Then somebody posted about bolting on a roushcharger on a 5.0 and called it "party over". That's when I had to jump in with my 2 cents..Do you ever wonder why there are 70 plus ecoboost trucks that are on the drag list? Cause its as simple as loading up a tune that people can afford and have fun with it. Whats wrong with that. I'm curious to why some SCAB, SCREW charged 5.0 hasnt posted up any 1/4 mile traps. I'd have to think that if a person was gonna race his truck and spend the $9000 to supercharge it, he would be smarter to start with a RCSB, certainly nothing wrong with that either..Back to point though I would love to see both motors boosted in an equal chasis going at it, would'nt you?

There is no right or wrong to either engine. A good place to start is here http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/...n/viewall.html I know the test is of 2011s but is probably the best comparison I've found.
