Quiet EcoBoost Performance Exhaust & Air Intake?

The chances of a performance gain over the factory exhaust is pretty minimal. You will most likely succeed in making more noise and lightening your wallet. The Airaid filter I have doesn't make any more noise. IMO, you will gain the performance you seek through the use of a Superchips tuner, and still enjoy your quiet exhaust and intake. I know I do. Funny thing is, the tuner is cheaper than an exhaust.
FWIW, I installed the MBRP cat back which was touted to be one of the best sounding and quietest exhausts for the ecoboost. After watching sound clips of it for about a week straight I was in agreement. I installed it, and less than 48 hours later I uninstalled it and put the factory stuff back on.

Super chips tuner and a electric cut out dumping from the exhaust right before the resonator!
That's what I want to do factory exhaust quiet. Then when you want the open exhaust flip a switch.

The Airaid intake that installs in place of the factory air filter box. I refuse to call a filter on a stick an intake, but whatever. An intake is a manifold, not an air filter system. No noise difference. Except I suppose if my windows are down and I am next to a wall or another vehicle I can hear faint turbo whistle.

You would be realy hard pressed to improve on what the factery installed. The exhaust is already a straight through designe and the pre turbo intake system is already a true cold air intake that will flow more air than the engine can use. so if you want bragging rights spend your money if you want quiet leave it alone

On the various programmers like Superchips, I agree they are the best bang for the buck. My concern with them is the warranty. I'm much less concerned by an exhaust or a "filter on a stick" doing anything to impact the warranty.

I don't know too much about exhuast, but I do know well enough about engine air filtration to totally disagree with you about the stock intake box being more air then the engine needs. As far as the topic, I am with the OP. I had a Heartthrob 4" exhuast and ended up selling it do to it being too loud and annoying. The more I drive this truck, the more I am liking it's peace and quiet driving. Besides, I don't need to hear a noise to know my EB has power.

Ive been thinking of doing this.......... if you want to be loud, ignorant, and have the best flowing, most minimal exhaust possible--just flip a switch (dragstrip or a weekend of offroading?)
Back to work on Monday for the daily commute... flip the switch for peace and quiet.
As far as intake goes... im taking a hard look at the Volant... looks great so far and the donaldson filter is a welcomed step outside the box.

I don't know about the design and flow of the stock parts but I'm sure they are good. However, you would think Ford would still have to balance performance with cost and EPA regs. which leaves room for improvement. Maybe not but there are some pretty good claims for it by the aftermarket.
Exactly. Also to cut down on noise, but the cost of designing & making another intake box vs using an existing intake has a lot to do with it. Like I have said in other threads with this topic, the filter box on the EB was not specificly designed for the EB or turbo charged engines like most think. The filter box housing alone was used in the 2011+ F150 5.0, the 2009-2010 F150 5.4 and 4.6, and the 2009+ F250 5.4 as well as the Expeditions. The air filter itself goes back being used in 2007+ model Expeditions. Cutting cost had a lot to do with the intake that is on the EB, not performance.
