Default Questions about the EB

Okay, some of these questions have been asked in other threads some have not. I'm seriously considering purchasing an EcoBoost and there are a few Questions I'd like to ask. How many miles do you have on your EB? If you have had any problems what are they? How much did you get the dealer to come down from the sticker price (I know it depends on the trim level) I just wanted to get an idea. Also, does this sound right for insurance, I have a 2011 Mustang GT Premium and the quote I got from the insurance company on a 2011 F150 EB SCREW Lariat was only one hundred dollars cheaper per year...?? Any help woould be great....

Your insurance is probably due to the price and 4X4 nature of your truck.
As far as EB goes, I say drink the Koolaid, it tastes good.
I do not regret my purchase for a moment and sing it's praises to everyone.
Almost 2000 miles, no problems.
Watch the EcoBoost torture test on You Tube if you have any doubts as to Ford's sincere effort with this engine.
Also, a post whiplash warning.
The EB can be polarizing, just listen to me and everything will be just fine...

1. 1200 miles.
2. No, but I do see a small variation in idle speed that some others experience.
3. I got mine for about 7k off sticker, but that's with X Plan and rebates.
4. Insurance for an '11 SuperCrew EB is nearly identical to my old '08 Tundra RCSB 5.7.

Thanks for the response guys, I do feel the truck will perform excellent with little or no problems, however with it being new model year, I would like to see someone with more than 15,000k on one. I think I may have come accross one on this forum. As far as the insurance, it just doesn't seem right to me, a truck almost as much as a sports/muscle car...

I have about 500 on mine.
Im getting 16.4 mpg with almost all city driving.
It has power son, all the get up and go you will need.
Mine is a 2011 fx4 screw, i wish i could have gotten anything under a 3.55 gear but im stuck with the 3.73. Thats my only gripe.
I noticed "some" erradic idle'ing but for the most part the truck is great.

I have 19,000km on mine with no problems with the motor. I am experiencing harsh 1-2 shifts but I'm sure I'll get that worked out. I've been getting as good of fuel mileage as anyone should expect. 19-20 real world. 24 ish on highway runs. I drove a 6.2 plat while my truck was in today and wouldn't trade the motor straight across. Maybe if someone paid for my fuel. Lol

Ok I'm going to sell ya the EB! Please see my pic for some proof. I just went to Canada lake of the woods fishing at my family's cabin. I left IL and reset the trip meter. I towed a 17Ft alumacraft with a 140 outboard and 38 gallon fuel tank full because gas is cheaper here than across the boarder. I was very impressed with my over all mileage. My 2010 5.4 wad getting 13 to 14 same trip. I have had no problems at all with my EB at this point with 5000 on the clock. I am happy with the towing of this truck with what I tow so far. Go for it buddy you will love it!

I have 3300 miles on my eco screw 2wd and have experienced no problems so far. I love this engine. I don't really tow anything so I went with the 3.15 axle and I am consistently getting 20mpgs around town and 24 hwy. The engine is super powerful, quiet, and mine runs smooth a silk. I highly recommend this engine.

Careful about expectations of mpg.
It really depends on how you drive it.
Around town I am getting 15 mpg, about 2 mpg better than with my 5.4, but I'm not quite done trying out the turbos yet.
Lots of guys are getting high teens around town.
On the highway it really shines, and doesn't seem to have any trouble getting 21 mpg or better.
There is a HUGE thread on EB mpg if you search.

My favorite characteristic is the low rpm git and go when you need to make a pass at low speeds. Instant torque launch. I am at 3025 and maybe its just me but mpg's seem to have improved a smidgeon. Not sure if the whole 3000 mile cpu flash thing is true or urban legend but I was at 20-21mpg going into work today at 70mph and going east always yields worse mileage for me (wind). This is a 4x4 3.73. Didn't want the 3.73 but took what they had, which this past March was hard to come by. Boost=juice though, remember that. Needs a boost guage. Hell, even my Whirlpool ecoboost washing machine has a boost guage. Bet id be just as happy with the 5.0 if I bought that instead. Ymmv.
