Has anyone with any of the SOLO systems noticed any changes (+ or -) in power ? How about MPG's ?? Was thinking of doing a CAI and cat-back, but now wondering if I will do either after reading more threads from real-world users' experiences. A lot of people have pulled their CAIs off and gone back to stock. And seems the exhaust is 50/50 too.....

Might be the down tube/stock cat-back (and stock intake) idea is the best way to get serious gains....without a tune that is.......
According to tq pro numbers I dropped like 2 tenths off my 0-60, and about the same in the 1/4. Highway I see about 1mpg better....and maybe .2 miles better in the city after 2600 miles.

Easy 1-1.5 mpg increase for me on my average. I've had a Solo system in longer than anyone and its still in as new condition. Definite increase in low end and midrange. I notice it most in part throttle situations like pulling away from a stop. People can dislike 409 stainless all they want but, here in Southern Ontario they use the nastiest crap on earth for the roads in winter. Way more corrosive than salt. Which they also use! Literally the bolts on the road signs are rusting off. 409 holds up for people up here. Sound is nice and deep. I have the Mach x dual with one of their Mach resonators before the muffler. Res killed much of the turbo whistle. I'm back to stock down pipes for now as well. System is very smooth sounding in this configuration. Whistle with the high flow cat down pipes was great but the overall volume might be too much for some. I'm switching back to the Solo down pipe in the future.

Why did you add the Res in front of the Muffler?

Also fellas, I asked my wife what she though I should do. Buy the exhaust or buy Amp power steps, she said buy the power steps, sell my stock FX4 steps, and buy the exhaust later. WTF....I can't make up my mind!

I had the res put on so that when I go back to the Solo down pipe it will be a bit toned down while towing. Last summer with the full exhaust was a little loud while pulling our 30' travel trailer. Not for me but for the wife and kids.

I really like the added sound, makes the "boost" seem more believable than the "eco" is. I'm in a similar limbo right now between a tuner or some Harley headlights and taillights...then the tuner in about a month.

I'd vote Solo...but then again I already have them and haven't even considered power steps. Good luck either way.

Are intake and exhaust really worth it? My reason for looking to the exhaust is to try and gain back the 1-1.5 mpg I lost when adding my level and 275/70's. You guys running aftermarket exhaust, do you have an intake as well? have you noticed any difference?

you will not see much of a gain from an intake. I'd say the exhaust is def worth the money, it adds some lowend grunt. I'd go for the exhaust and then save for tuner. If you keep your foot out of it you'll probably see a 1-2mpg gain. But with performance mods I think until the new wears off you might not gain any mpg's.

Drone no, exhaust note yes, very slight at cruising rpms. If you are concerned you might be able to get Steve to swap out the muffler.

It's a very low note at cruising RPMs. Very nice low growl at idle. And unique sound at WOT. It's hard to liken the ecoboost to anything else...the exhaust note is unique---and that's about as much as I can say. There's a vid in my thread with the rear window open.

If you aren't sure if you want to hear the exhaust inside the cabin get them to throw in the other muffler. I personally like the sound, but sound is subjective.

I want the sound of an exhaust, I don't want the sound of drone!
