Default Question for guys with catted ecoboost downpipes

If you don't get a tune update are you throwing a code concerning the rear O2 after a few days?
Just curious as the SHO/Flex pipes are using small cats and causing emissions codes.
If you didn't throw a code can you post up what manufacturer you used?
Thanks!

When I had my Solo Catted downpipes on my 2011 I ran extenders and didn't do anything to tune to "trick" the rear 02's and had no CEL.

Some people do though.

I'm sure you can run O2 simulators or "spark plug anti-foulers" to keep the O2's out of the stream if you do throw a code with them on. I'm the same way with wanting to do downpipes, but can't justify spending the $1500 or so on DP's and a tuner/tunes.

I run the Kook's Catted DP and went almost a month and 500 miles with out it throwing a code before I got a tune for it. It would be easier to diagnose if we knew what code it had. If it is a heater code then the tune can be adjusted to time out for a little longer to allow the O2 sensors to warm up a little more. This happens a lot more with catted pipes due to O2 sensors being placed further away from the stock location on the aftermarket pipes. If it is a rich code then the cats are not properly sized for the engine and are not burning the excess fuel off.

Nope. On my SOLO catted downpipes I did not install extension as they said they may/may not be needed. This was when I was LMS tuned and they had not turned off the rear O2 sensors yet. And no codes where ever thrown.

05mustang, these are the codes I received when running Catted dps.
p0430 and p0420

Since then Shawn at SSI has taken care of this.
