Agreed. I know some people have had problems with O2 sensors that have caused issues. The Ford engineers have plain language said octane doesn't matter unless super hot or towing, but every week someone pops on this forum that knows better.

I run 87 and have never felt the shaking. I also live in Phoenix Arizona. It's sorta hot here.

A co worker bought an ecoboost and had the shaking issue with 87. He was told by the dealer to run premium. Ever since the shaking has gone away. Ford isn't clear on which fuel you should use. web sites, manual says 87 is ok. Dealer says premium.

It can be the Gas you get as well, especially if you change to higher octane or different fuel. Some places just sell cheap gas or dont maintain thier underground systems well.

I had an issue on my old truck where it would idle rough at stop lights or when I started it. Fianlly even got so rough it would stall in rare instances. Turns out it was the cheap gas I was getting at this one BJ's warehouse by me. Shortly after going to another gas station, QT I think, it slowly cleared up over a couple weeks and no issues the rest of the time I had it.

Its not neccessarily the chain brand either, like mentioned, it could be just that owner of that specific station is not paying to maintain his system properly and water or soured gas (yes oil and gas do expire) is in it.

Not saying thats the issue, just something to look at, and keep in mind, it takes awhile to run bad gas through your vehicle, so even if you dont always stop at the bad station, periodic stops just prolongs the problem.
