I think something on this order would allow enough air flow and also offer a certain amount of protection. Of course it would have to be in chrome stainless or black whatever matches the grill.

I too am concerned about debris trashing the IC. Ever look through the grille of some of the trucks new and old in the parking lots? Some that I've seen are so badly peppered with dents and bugs it's a wonder that they even transfer heat anymore. I have a piece of window screen in front of my radiator on my current ride and the fins look like new. Window screen is likely much too small of a mesh for the EB application but I think that 1/4" hardware cloth would probably be OK.

With the IC being at an angle like it is, seems that anything that hits it will do a nice job of folding the fins over. Maybe the new ones will come with a fin comb next to the capless fuel emergency funnel thingy!!!

Go to your hardware store and get 1/8th inch galvanized screen. Open your hood and cut a piece to cover all your radiator surfaces, but keep away from radiator fins a couple of inches. A perfect invisible rock, bug, debris screen with no air restriction. Have been doing this for 10 years and all my radiator find are mint.

This is what I did to mine. Went to hardware store and got some metal mesh and cut to fit. Since taking this photo, I have taken it back out and paited all black (looks better)

Am I missing something here? Is there supposed to be a photo attached to post #24?

Found this and copied picture from another thread. I don't know if this would void any warranty issue with the EcoBoost, but I like this better than an open hole in the bumper.

I think it looks good. Should let in plenty of air and offer fair amount of protection.

I seen this on another thread as well. If I remember correctly he made it from an old Chevy Corsica grill. Maybe he will chime in on this to confirm.
