I think momentary ticking after start up is normal. As long as it doesn't keep ticking for more than 10s or so, doesn't sound like a problem to me.

Momentary ticking is not normal in a 5.0L take it to your dealer and get the timing chain tensioners replaced. It will do damage eventually if not repaired.

what kind of damage could that do? i was under the impression that it was normal until i read a thread on here (2011 5.0 momentary engine ticking) and won't have time to take it to the dealer for about 3 more weeks.

Long term it will cause damage to the timing chain, guides and timing chain cover. My truck ended up with 8900km on it before it was fixed and the technician said there was no visible damage. 3weeks will be fine.

Fx4 2011 screw, I have back up camera problems. Black and white grainy view or totally doesn't turn on. Dealer says it wont do it for them when it's hooked up. They need a tsb fix

Default Frustration!!

Frustration!
Help! I just picked up my truck for the forth time in two months with no resolve. I have been experiencing identical symptoms as the other in this thread. Right down to the noise, length of time and preset conditions. Yet Ford tells me there is no TSB and thus no solution for me. They told me "wait til it gets louder and bring it back in. You have plenty of warranty left!". Not exactly the answer I was looking for but I've excepted it because I've felt like I haven option.

Can you guys offer some insight into how you were able to get a resolution?

Any help it greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

2011 FX4 screw with 5.0 and approx. 9000 miles!
