We have "love bugs" in FLorida and when ever I take a long trip, I spray the front of the grill and mirrors down with ArmorAll and the bugs do not stick nearly as bad as without

I drove 9 hours through the south in bug season last summer. I put a nice coat of the Colinite wax on and was impressed with how easily they came off once I returned.
WD40 is another good suggestion on removing them after the fact.
But, if you have bucks to spend, for as many highway miles you are driving and if you plan on keeping this truck for some years, the 3M clear bra, or some variant would be a wise upgrade. Also may want to look at some similar types of headlight protection as well, I used the Xpel and it was very easy to install.

If you want to take the bugs off the easiest way just take a bath towel and soak it in hot water. Lay the towel on the bugs for about 15 minutes and wipe them off. The warm water releases them from the vehicle. Most Harley riders know about this simple solution for their windshields.
