well then ford is the only manufacturer that I've heard of blinking a cel for simple rev limiter. Pretty stupid to blink for a split second issue. If it is indeed a rev limiter then the issue is a trans tune allowing the vehicle to kick down enough gears to manually over rev (hard, mechanical) the truck, not a "soft" over rev. This would be the equivalent of missing 4th and banging 2nd instead, and that's how you break ****.

I personally don't think hitting the rev limiter is causing a cel. I have my truck tuned and one tune with rev limiter raised another with stock limiter. Iv been stupid a couple times and forgot what tune I had loaded. Showing the truck to friends and I manually shift 1-2 because it will have already shifted by the time I get onto the main road. Anyways I have bumped the limiter several times never had a cel.

My theory and nothing else. Ford has the eb so safe with a lot of sensors. Anytime one little sensor gets out of acceptable range it kicks the truck into limp mode. Solution restart truck and everything resets and your back to normal. Just my theory.

This issue seems to be exclusive to the Ecoboost...

I won't waste my time responding anymore. Experience rules...

let us know how your "experience" prevails long term. You're in the dark just like the rest of us, you aren't privy to anything we aren't. Opinions (which is all you have too) are like *******s , everyone has them and they all stink. Get over yourself.

I was just stating an idea. Why would only the eb give a cel for hitting the rev limiter.

Good enough for me. My thoughts are that Ford can't afford to have any eb blow up. They have too much invested so they are taking every precaution possible.

Let me ask you this question, have you personally experienced this issue?

When's the last time you've hit the rev limiter on any of your vehicles? I hit mine on the Mustang Gt about 5 weeks ago shifting at 6200 rpms at the track, and the CEL did what it always does, blink until the engine regulates to a suitable rpm and the rev limiter ceases.

All your knowledge about a flashing CEL? Please...type if you must it is entertaining...

i rail the **** out of my eco and it doesn't ever do the christmas light blinking. i'm more than positive my 7250 (ya, seven thousand two hundred and fifty) shift point (gto) comes quicker than your cute 6200 in your gt. Maybe you should learn to shift faster? like i SAID BEFORE, must be a cute ford thing. GM just digs the spark and cuts fuel. keep on keepin on.
