Carl, you should not come in to a vendor's thread and act like a d1ck.

If people what to increase their performance then let them. If they are too stupid to understand what they are doing then it is their problem, stop trying to be a life guard at the stupid pool. Some of the people NEED to drown.

This is a company offering a service, if you don't like it then don't read the thread or click on it.

Why is that so hard to comprehend.

A d1ck, you are being one in this thread.

Yes, they can. My point is the voiding of the warranty didn't change for the ecoboost. It has always been that if you do something to your vehicle and it causes damage, then the manufacturer is not responsible to fix it. And that is absolutely the way it should be. That hasn't stopped people in the past, and it won't stop people now from trying to get more easy hp.

You are also right about someone doing something stupid and voiding their warranty, but lets be honest, has it not happened in the past with other motors. And the fear mongerer's on this site seem to think that putting an exhaust or anything else on your truck, WILL damage it and have your entire warranty voided. Not true.

All I ask is that if your happy with the way your truck is now, or are worried about damage, or warranties, just don't come on here flaming. I'm all for ligitimate concerns, discussions, and advice giving. But lets not give the vendors here, or others who are trying to come up with aftermarket support the idea that we aren't interested. Or keep them from coming back to this site (due to uncalled for negativity) to get our questions, concerns, and advice for future products.

Funny enough my buddy just had to have some work done to his 250 with custom
tune and exhaust. If memory serves he blew a head gasket, little fuzzy since we were drinking, and the dealer still did all the work. Came down to not being able to prove that the tune/exhaust caused it.

His dad did let them load a TSB for an idle issue which caused huge tune problems though ><

dude, where did I flame? I'm pretty sure the past few threads I've been saying that I think the EB is a good engine. some of you EB guys have a complex. you need to get over that.

I said I'm all for people modding if they want to. heck, I'd love to see what an EB is good for (you know, the upper limit) just as much as I'd like to see what the upper limit on the 5.0 and 6.2 are.

saying they cant void your warranty is false information. no, they cant void your power folding mirror warranty because you bumped the boost on the turbos or added an intake/exhaust but then I dont think anyone was saying they could. but they can and will void relevant parts of your warranty, probably including some parts that you may think are unrelated.

If you play you are going to get caught. They will blacklist those parts that are related to the powertrain and no Ford dealer will warranty those parts. For example. You put on a tuner and up the boost. The dealer finds this out. Now your engine, tranny and rearend are no longer in warranty because you have been blacklisted in the system. If the mechanic is your friend at the dealership and lets a repair go by and Ford goes back and asks to see the codes, the mechanic is screwed, so is the dealership and so are you. I will say it again. FOMOCO has told the techs what data to save. If a powertrain problem arises they will ask for the data and analyze it- you will be found out.

I think that the uninformed needs to be aware and make a wise decision on aftermarket parts that could cost them thousands in repairs. That is the point of my post. Seems that most now just get in the truck and drive, don't have a clue to mechanics. They see a post about 100 extra hp. Being uneducated they buy the product, blow the motor and are screwed. I want to make sure that they understand. I think all makers of aftermarket parts need to say so in big letter on their products. YOUR ENGINE, TRANNY AND DIFF MAY BE DAMAGED, WE WON'T PAY, FORD WAN'T PAY. MAG-MOSS ACT WON'T HELP YOU EITHER

HAHA that will work about as well as the cancer warnings on cigarettes. People that smoke don't care. People that mod their trucks usually tend to understand the risks as well. When someone starts a thread B*tching that Ford didn't cover there warranty because they tuned there truck, then you can say your piece to shut them up. This does not mean that you should go into a vendors thread and try and scare people from buying there products. It is not your 50k truck that they are modding it is theirs. Let them spend there money in a way that makes them happy.

Man just drop it. If you want to inform the uninformed, start your own thread and don't ruin Fastlane's thread. Besides there was a big thread about voiding warranties on the ecoboost awhile back, that I'm sure of a lot of members here who are knowledgeable enough read and researched.

Bolting on a set of high-flow catalytic converters with wide pipes added 30 horsepower at the rear wheels, as measured on Fastlane's chassis dyno.
Dumb question but what exactly are wide pipes?

Just a thought but I wonder if you changed your ECU from a "wrecker unit" or bought a new one and added that to your wrecker motor what they could check for then?
