Performing TSB for Timing Chain NEED HELP
I have the engine pretty much broken down to needing to remove valve covers, crank pully, and front cover. Spent 3 hours with a gear puller trying to get crank pully off.... no luck thus far even broke one of the tools (was defective had rust inside the end of the claw). NOW I need to figure out why the valve covers wont come off... ive tried using a putty knife and flathead and gently pry the gasket off the head. It seems something else is holding it on and I have no clue whats going on. NEED GUIDANCE please. I have been taking tons of pictures to help future DIY people tackle this project just need help getting **** off the engine.

What engine? sounds stupid but did you remove spark plugs? Also if its a TSB why are you doing it and not the dealer?

3.5 Ecoboost. Reason im doing myself I have 120k miles on it. no warranty. Dealer charges 3-4k for the full service with parts. I bought parts myself from ford parts.com with TSB printout with part list. 1200$ for parts and just my own time is what im using.

I just rebuilt my 5.0 and the valve covers are a b**ch make sure all the bolts are fully out and the that all the little wires from the harness are unhooked. the next thing I did was pry from a corner and used a flat head to wiggle the rest free. would also help if you posted some pictures to show us where you are at.

Ya the seals around the spark plug tubes are stuck you need to persuade them and they come out after they loosen from there just don't stick anything that could damage the seal unless you are replacing them.
