Oil Coming out of turbo, compressor, drivers side.

Never worked on Borg Warner. I have worked on lot of Garrett's in my Agricultural World of farm equipment. They were good turbos! They held up quite well unless they ingested a lot of dirt from poor servicing or air filter failure.

Sounds like a leaking turbo to me! Yes, any significant amount of oil leaking by quite often ends up of the at the tail pipe as soot as you mentioned you have seen. I have seen turbos that weep a bit, but yours sounds more than a weep! Take it to the dealer service department and or better yet trade it for the 6.2 and you won't sorry. That EB V6 is quite the engine, but I just don't think Ford has got it right yet! I have the 6.2 and love it!

Not sure which one you'd consider the lower intercooler pipe on this truck, but the only thing i removed was the charge pipe right at the turbo in the pic i showed, and the amount of oil i found there i can only imagine the intercooler to the throttle body is going to be coated as well.

Keepin' the lights on!
I noticed my intercooler seeping oil from the bottom on the drivers side. It looks to be coming from where the left tank mates to the core. I haven't had time to really investigate yet. I'm hoping it's just from the PCV. I've seen powerstrokes in the past that would dump a ton of oil from the crankcase vent.
In a way I almost don't want to have this fixed because I sorta feel that any condensation that gathers in the IC is also purged out by this small leak.
Let us know what you find because it may be the same thing for my truck.

Old thread, but I just rigged a atmospheric vent from my bypass valve and noticed the EXACT same thing. I pulled the PCV hose on the drivers side inlet pipe but couldn't really tell if there was oil in it. Either way, the oil-in-the-intake is a sure sign that there is probably crusty black stuff on the backs of our intake valves. I'm going to call Edge Autosport in Denver tomorrow to check on getting a catch can placed on the PCV system. I was hopeful that it was a trashed turbo seal because that means it's time for a TURBO UPGRADE BOYEEEES! Unfortunately, a fella mentioned that there would be a constant smoking situation from the tail pipe.

Moroso also has oil vapor catch cans. Hopefully someone will come out with a EB specific kit like they did for the Raptor.
