Default Not a good night - dealer says timing?

3-25
Driving home on interstate engine light starts blinking truck running rough no power.
I get off on shoulder truck won't idle right very rough.
Let it sit for a bit and same when restarted it.
34500 miles on truck now. Bumper to bumper warranty ran out last July.
Not happy.

Going to dealer first thing in morning to get truck in for service. Had it towed there tonight.

---

3-27
Dealer said the timing is totally whacky and that was why it was misfiring they say it had a ton of codes on it.
Their engine guy is trying to figure it out.

Looks like no truck for a while...

Intercooler moisture issue, there are a few TSB's regarding the issue. It will be covered under your powertrain warranty.

That's what I'm hoping!

The stories I've read about it people said they turned truck off and back on and drove on without issue.
Mine isn't drivable which had me unsure if it is that or something else. No noises that I noticed just sudden rough running and power loss.

Sounds like coils or plugs.

Checked into dealer. $115 to look at.
$0 if under power train. $100 deductible on my extended warranty.

Going from running great to horrible in seconds is scary.
Hopefully back on road soon...

I had the same issue and it was a plug and coil as a result of the flashover caused by water ingestion into the cylinders on bank #2 from a non-updated CAC.

Please let me know how your dealer trip goes, fordtruckman2003. Also, what's the model year of your truck? I'll be here to answer any questions you may have.

Should be in signature but can't tell if that working. I'm using mobile version of this site.

That actually is not that bad...

Are you handy with wrenches? If that is the case, it is likely that you do do some basic diagnosis that will allow you to rule out some common EB stumbling points.
