They are work trucks as well. I'm sure they get loaded up with gear and a trailer from the start all the time. These work trucks see more milage in month then most and they're doing just fine. Break it in how your going to use your truck and it well never let you down.

I just hit 20,000 miles on my 2011 towing a trailer from mile 11 and I just read about this in the manual.
Oh well, I did notice that over the course of the first oil change interval I added over 2 quarts of oil. 2nd change was about 2 quarts, 3rd was a bit less, and now I don't think I have needed to add in awhile.
You think this has to do with the break in?

ya man.. I towed right away. If there was an issue with towing right away I expect there would be a lot of broken f150's around the world.

My f 150 are TRUCKS made for working as soon as they leave the lot, don`t have time to baby a thousand mile...

Bingo! My truck will be put to work pulling a trailer with at least 5,000lbs, the day after i buy it. Its what i did with my GMC i have now and its been a great truck with over 80,000 on the clock.

Drive it like you stole it from day one.

I towed a 6k boat for couple hours at around 500 miles. It smelled like a bitch with the new truck burning off random stuff smell. The truck actually exploded when I tried to put the boat into the water, caught the oil slick on top of the lake on fire, caused a state emergency, killed all wildlife in a 37 mile radius, and northern NH is now a wasteland.....
But seriously, no issues yet
