Interesting. Thanks for posting your videos.
So do you recommend not letting the truck idle before driving it, especially when cold out? Can this be cured with a reprogramming so the engine doesn't over fuel?

Only reason I ask is cause if you replace the whole thing, it could be tolerances or bad phasers that are either allowing too much blowby or lack of phaser control leading to not enough reversion.

So the video said "not just eco engines". Wonder what else is going up there on the gasser side. With as many as are on the road, I can understand some failures, but this still seems like a small percent. We need more info I think

Boost :)
Seafoam and other detergents additives do not cause damage to turbos, DI engine or not. I've used it for years on various vehicles. Some DI, some not DI. Some turbocharged, some not. Never once had a turbo issue with any of those vehicles.

You sir, are awesome. I don't own an ecoboost for this very reason, but thank you for the video. It's extremely helpful getting insight from someone who works at Ford.
Any insight on the 5.0 other than cylinder distortion?

I only meant to speak to what was said about it ruining or hurting turbos. I have used it on many turbo engines both DI and regular EFI and have never heard of or seen it hurt a turbo. Just my experience.
