I also just posted a new video on how to prevent as much of this carbon buildup as possible.

Don't just hate rumors and speculation? I visit my Ford dealership quiet often and don't see the E.B. vehicle lining up for repairs or warranty work. What's the guy in the video driving anyhow?

I realize that the video was a little misleading. The engine he was talking about in the first video wasn't even in an F150, and he said it had other issues aside from valve coking. Some people have ran with this saying that all eco's are bad, when in fact they aren't. Is vavle coking a real problem with direct injection??? Yes, by design. Has Ford designed the engine to mitigate the coking? I think they did a pretty good job of it. I don't have an Eco, but I'm not opposed to them. I just don't need what they offer and I still prefer my rumble (you know because I'm a knuckle dragger Lol). Some of the other proplems that the Eco has had, I would personally atribute to Ford not being in the high performance turbo game for very long. Yes I realize diesel, but it's not the same. These engines are their learning curve. I think they are doing pretty well considering.

Default Want to know what HE drives?

Brian, the former Ford tech in the video, drives a new Dodge Ram 1500 Eco Diesel.

Because Ford didn't offer a diesel in their pick up trucks and he wanted the fuel mileage that RAM is claiming. He is doing a cross-country tour to help people fix their trucks and will obviously be using this new pickup to get around and wanted to maximize his fuel potential.

I am eager to see how mileage results when he done with the diesel he's driving. It will be an honest, no hold back type of honesty that's hard to find on products out there these days.

makuloco2000,
Saw your video and sorry your dealer let you go. Ford probably pushed for it. There thinking is nothing could be the matter with any engine they produce. I would have thought Ford would have called you and ask you to join the research and development department. Someone with "Real World Experience".

Thanks for keeping us informed.

So they fired him for being a technician and not a drone parts changer? WTF?!? That's just stupid.

Clearly you don't see the point of posting this video, which was in part to help the non-educated people understand why he went with the Ram. Combat Vet didn't leave much to be desired by the simple post he made. Factual, yes, but lacked depth so I provided more reasoning for all those outside loop.

Sorry for making the forum easier to understand for more of it's members.
