Guys,
Keep in mind since v10 and now v11 are continuing to make people fall in love with these trucks all over again, we want to remind people that for xv1 to be released we need local testers for testing on our dyno. We understand that those of you that want xv1 are a very small fraction of our actual customer base compared to the thousands that want exactly what our v11 tune provides, but we want to satisfy all of our customers as well.
Most of our clients are not looking to squeeze the most possible performance out of their vehicles for a more aggressive race oriented type of tune. Many are just looking improve overall drivability, performance, and fuel economy, but rarely push these trucks to the limit or frequent the drag strip. xv1 is more for that small percent that do like to go to the track and race their F-150s or drive very aggressively on a regular basis.

Im about 30 min from livernois my question is how many pulls will it take to tune? how long will it be there? and how much to do it?
im willing to help the forum but it is my only driver . im leaving town soon for a week that might work out for me.

I believe we have discussed this with you in the past, but in case I am mistaken the timeline depends on if everything goes to plan, or not. Ideally we would say 2 days is what we plan on. It might be one, it might be longer than 2. As for a pull count, that's even harder to predict, our hope is the first pull is exactly as it should be, but obviously we would validate it repeatedly even if it was. We are validating that all of the changes we make are still leaving enough safety margin as possible on various trucks. There is no cost associated with the tuning itself, but if memory serves, you did not have all of the required modifications done to the truck to utilize Xv1, so we would need to get the truck to spec first before we could do it. So that would have a charge for those parts and labor to install them.

Sorry to step in but maybe if you guys covered the labour to install said parts you would have a better chance of having people leave their personal truck for you guys to "experiment" on. I know your just verifying the tunes but the person may worry about their truck being run by strangers. Just my 2cents.
I thought that I could give them a week cuz I'm going out of the country that way
they could work it in on there time.
sorry livernois I did not try to hit a nerve.

Well, we definitely appreciate the feedback, but this is a want item for people. Our V11 tune constantly has people amazed with the performance, drivability, and reliability, and we continue to perfect the tuning all of the time, but for those 10 or so customers out of thousands looking for the Nth degree while not crossing the line, these steps must be done.
Truthfully, someone would be getting a free dyno session, and dyno tuning out of this, so the cost of a $60 thermostat, some antifreeze, and a a little labor is a very small price to may for this service. you are having us spend 40+ hours with your vehicle at sub $200, that's a pretty amazing value.
As for the time invested, Would someone really want anyone spending only a short time on their vehicle for this type of setup? I think far too many people have seen what "miracle" tunes do to engines because the proper time wasn't spend on development. How many tuners have come and gone, or supporters of tuning companies fallen of the boards radar when they attempt this type of tune. That is one mistake you will never find us making because we know how much time needs to be spend on R+D, and the closer you get to that limit, the longer the R+D takes.
Now, Mazz, we definitely weren't meaning to sound curt with you at all, we just wanted to remind the community that there are certain prerequisites involved to be able to run Xv1, and to be a candidate for this upgrade. And so they were aware of the level of detail put into it even if it's perfect from the word go.
