This was the first leg of the jouney posted above, at 63 mph.
Looks great. Mostly flat?

So, you either are suggesting a lie or you are not, either way, what have you contributed to help others improve mpgs. I've made three suggestions that really help me. Either help others or stop badgering and wasting everyone's time.

Tips:
1. Constantly display instant MPG screen as it helps you reference your current driving pattern against you average since last reset. NOTE: Don't cheat and reset at top of big hill.

2. Analyze the routes you pick by the terrain. Shorter may not mean better. A small increase in distance may increase your trip distance by 5%, but, you may see an mpg increase of 20% over the entire trip to compensate.

3. I've found the sweet spot for mpgs to be between 45-65 mpg. Anything over 65 hovers very close to my overall average.
Try again.

I never implied you lied, misrepresented, manipulated, bluffed, or anything else. YOU TOOK IT THAT WAY.

Get your context in order before you even think about saying I called you out.

Not one of my posts were directed at you pertaining to the mpg and trips and the trumped up numbers. If I thought you were lying, I'd flat out say it, not dance around it through examples. I never thought you were being untruthful.

If you feel that I was directing it at you, please show me where I said it. I never did, so calm down.

Anyone notice that the new transmission almost performs an engine brake when going down hills. I've noticed when "coasting" down hills that my instant mileage is not tacked all the way up because it appears as though the transmission is trying to brake. Never had that with my F250.

It will do it more so when towing. With a trailer, in tow/haul, tap the breaks twice to stay at a speed going down a good sized hill it will will act like a Jake brake...trying to keep it at that speed.

Here's a tip...for that tip...I figure I gain a good amount of mileage from coasting. Long ramps on the interstate I try to coast it...I'll downshift by blocking out gears to slow the truck rather than slamming the brakes, it might seem crazy but it will add mileage. In traffic if I see I'm about to have to stop for a light, what's the hurry to get up there and stop...coast as soon as you realize it, either your still rolling when the light goes green and then your saving fuel by not having to go from a stop. The truck will fuel cut in coast...

Btw, I don't use the MPG readout...got 20.3 yesterday round trip 120 miles, mixed from 45 to 70 stop lights included...going to work. W/ two wot blasts lol.

Good stuff. I can't hit 20 mpg running 55 on a 20 mile stretch without hitting breaks on a flat road with cruise control. you can't blame that on the driver....I just got one of the "lemons"

Default Platinum 2012 4X4

I just purchased a new 2012 about 2 months ago and do a lot of highway driving. My mileage has been consistently 18 MPG at five miles an hour under highway speeds. in town I see 16.5 or so. I sold a Titan to get this Ecoboost because of how well it did in the challenge tests and also hoping for some better gas mileage.
Like the power of the Eco, gas mileage definately not as advertised!

I love that tow/haul tip. I didn't know that and I tow a camper.

But, don't you get that jake brake effect even when not towing a thing? I do and I hate it.

That is fuel cut...if they roll like neutral then you need gas like idle. Is a gas saving feature...that works.
