New to me 2011 FX4 5.0
Hello Gents,
New transfer here from the 04-08 section as I recently traded in my 04 FX4 for a new to me 2011 FX4 5.0 Screw. Truck is great so far outside of a pretty unresponsive throttle and a sloppy shifting transmission but my research shows a 5star tune should clean that up. My only concern, I noticed a ticking/tapping noise at idle when cold. It usually starts after high idle kicks down and is gone once fully warm. I trolled a few threads and stickies and found tsb's from water pump and tensioner pulleys all the way to number 4 cylinder warpage eventually destroying the motor. So I guess my question is has anyone felt with this and have an idea of what it is? I'd sure hate to worry about putting a short block in a truck I just bought. Oh and this truck has 75k and runs great outside of the annoying tapping noise.
