New to Ford and New to Forum...my thoughts so far

When I test drive a Titan, the only thing I like better than the rest was the Rockford Fosgate audio system. Otherwise, it was like stepping back in time compared to Ford and Dodge. Slow. Terrible mileage. Ugly as sin. Plus, if you ever want to read about people having problems with their trucks, check out the Titan forums.
Slow? Hardly. The design is dated somewhat but I used to toy with the Hemi's in the day and usually edge them out in little stoplight wars. Plus, people would stop and ask me about it because it was rare compared to the millions of Ford's/Dodge's out there. I had to keep the Titan bone stock as it was leased.
If I had purchased a truck solely for fuel economy i'd have bought a little Toyota or Nissan, something along those lines. I knew i'd be towing some large trailers.
I did read about them and I was involved in the forums. There were problems, rattles (which annoyed the hell out of me) and other issues but every single vehicle has them. This is partly why this truck doesn't annoy me much at all. I expect there will be some issues and Ford will have to step up to fix them. My fuel filler door, for example, popped the spring and bring the stud it attaches to. The level of cheapness in -all- vehicles today is staggering.
The EB and F150 as a whole have as many problems as the Titan or any other full size truck. Don't be such a cheerleader for the F150. Ford has many issues itself.

Before buying this Ford, I owned a Dodge and a Chevy. Not a Ford cheerleader. I have always evaluated the choices at the time available and pick the best one.
Right now, Ford makes better trucks than anyone else.
And the 315hp Titan is a dog.

I would agree with you that Ford is making the best truck right now, otherwise I would not have bought it. Chevy trucks drive like a boat, Dodges have too much body roll, mainly because neither one seem to have their camber adjust right during the turns. Nissan and Ford, however, do get their camber range correct as is why they both handle much better than the others.
Disliking the Titan's appearance is just your opinion, as I am the opposite and think it is one of the better looking trucks (when given wheels and when it isnt the chrome package). The Ford is something I could draw when I was 6 years old it is so plain (not complaining about it, just saying it is a little simple).
2004-2006 Titans are slower than the 2007-present ones. As far as being slow as poop, maybe you are thinking about from a dig. You are right that they have approximately 315 hp (actually 317 ) but they do have 385 ft lbs of torque...which is more than the F150 5.0 has still if I remember correctly. Stock, the 2wd Titans have a throttle limiter until you hit 40 mph (4wd to 15 mph), then it sinks you back. You put a programmer on it which removes that throttle limiter, and you can hardly keep the tires from spinning, and like the tuned ecoboost, it will break the tires loose at 20 mph and bark them into second. Not slow. At the track mine ran a 14.0 flat with the mods I had.
Also, I never complained about the stock ecoboosts power...after all I knew it was stock and could be improved. All I am doing is saying where the Ford is lacking in comparison to the Titan, but overall I do agree that the Ford is a nicer truck.
And I have heard any disagreement about any of my dislikes of the Ford thus far...Point is I am not trying to say Fords suck and Titans rule...the Titan is my best point of reference for comparison since I owned two over the past 5 years (2wd then 4wd).
Rather than bashing my praise of certain aspects of the Titan, I was hoping to get more responses like "what kind of traction bar setup did you do," or " I agree, the ford shocks suck," or "What kind of problems are you having with the navigation, maybe I can help."

I came from titans too and most of your comparisons sound about right to me. The Eco pushes me harder into my seat but it does it so smoothly and quietly it just doesn't seam as beastly sometimes. Plus it sounds like a sewing machine, where both of my Titan were catless with long tube headers and obnoxiously loud. I miss the titans sometimes until I drive by the gas station hahaha. My new truck is sooooo bone stock it's driving me crazy but I love modding and can't wait to make it my own. Overall I'm glad I got my Eco and sounds like you are too. Here's my 05 SE, 06 LE and the new 13 Eco xlt

The problem is that I don't have these problems. No squeaks, don't get wheel hop, and the shocks ride great.
Of course I have an XLT with 17" rims, which means I have alot more sidewall, which may alleviate both the wheel hop and the ride issues. I don't have the Nav, Google maps on my Android works great.
As for acceleration, I was referring to rolling acceleration. When entering the highway, the Titan I drove seemed to barely be able to get out of it's own way, much less have enough acceleration for a proper passing maneuver. My 5.0 accelerates so much easier. Yes, maybe heavily modded, the Titan has some *****, but the Pro4x I drove would have stayed stock. With the Ford no reason to mod, unless you want insane acceleration.
I haven't ever heard anyone feel the need for traction bars on a stock height F150. On trucks with an 8" lift, yes, but never on a stock height truck.

You havent read enough on here then (for the wheel hop topic)...The first time I got the wheel hop, I researched it, and it is all over this forum. I rode in my friends ecoboost that is tuned, and same thing. Ridiculous wheelhop, and he has the 17s stock height. Road type and having about 100 hp less than a tuned ecoboost are also contributing reasons to the difference.
I do agree that google maps on the android works great, which is why I was saying the Nav system sucks. Didnt know this until after I bought the truck, but the Nav was not the reason I bought this model.
As far as the squeaks and rattles, I think your sidewall argument comes in to play here more than the wheel hop.

How long did you own one?

I had a Titan. The biggest piece of crap I've owned nex to a Camaro V6.
It had every problem you can image.
Leaking transmission, ticking engine, bad differential, bad brakes, bad brake master cylinder, rusting wheel wells, bad carpet install, leaking rear window, bad mirrors, rattles everywhere driving you NUTS! , bad window switch, and Extremely poor mileage at 13.2 mpg compared to 17.5 mpg. Decent performance but nothing like the 5.0L performance or the 5.4L low rpm performance from better trans and axle gearing.
Dealer helped me trade to a Nissan Pathfinder after 19,000 miles and 1 year, just to get me out of that piece of crap! He gave me a great price on the trade and Pathfinder.
The Pathfinder had ABS sensor problems, Major paint defect that they refused to warranty, and a shorted battery from a bad tensioner arm that I had to fight them to warranty! Traded because paint issue was going to cost me $7,000 out of pocket. I knew of 2 others having the problem as well as some of their STOCK on their showroom floor. Bye and good riddance Nissan. Never again.
All I can say is that you were extremely lucky as so many others on the Titan forums had the same issues as they were design defects.
Glad you didn't have as much problems as others.

I don't care about the problems with the Titan, I have just merely stated my issues with the present truck that I own and compared those issues to the Titan. I don't even own the Titan anymore so it doesn't even matter, but that doesn't make the issues with the Ford go away. Its like a bunch of Aggies trash talking the Longhorns even though it doesn't matter any more.
I appreciate all the great input on how to solve problems with the Ford, and the great encouragement to post my findings about the truck.
Please note my sarcasm as I have received no useful feedback, questions, or comments about my present truck.
