New Eco Raptor Question
From this article I read today:
Is there something that those of us with the pre-2015 EcoBoosts will be able to do to get this kind of power?
The outgoing SVT Raptor’s 6.2-liter V-8 has been replaced with the second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. While power ratings for the 2017 F-150 Raptor’s EcoBoost haven't been announced, the automaker says it will be more powerful and more efficient than the old 6.2-liter V-8 engine’s 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque rating. In the regular 2015 Ford F-150, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost makes just 365 hp and 420 lb-ft. The Raptor's EcoBoost engine exhales through a new dual exhaust and is backed by an all-new 10-speed automatic, which should further improve performance and efficiency.

End of the Earth
It's a whole new engine. The only thing it really shares with the old one is the displacement.

Just a tune on 93 with the current motor, you can make 400ish HP and 500ish trq....to the ground. Those numbers above in the article are crank. It will more than likely be a more solid motor with larger turbos, which means with just a tune on those....FUN TIMES!

Which tune is offering this!?! I'm using the canned SCT tune and there is no way I'm anywhere close to touching 400hp.

A scaled up 2.7 design? The compacted graphite block being the key to stronger connection to the crank.

I think compacted graphite is one, twin timing chains to cut the length in half is another. Offset rods I also believe will be in there. I would also bet a faster fuel management system so you don't over fuel when boost drops quickly during momentum changes.
