Default New CAI for 2011 5.0

First thing I would like to say is Fanfriggintastic!

Yes, I have mine installed and I'd like to thank David from Airaid, he is a great guy and it was good to meet him today. I called him a few months ago and we talked about this kit.

I like to support vendors that push to bring a good quality product to the market that I want to have on my truck.

My first impression was the sound. It is awesome. Yes, my exhaust is louder, not annoying or deafening, it sounds mean at idle and acceleration! It sounds great at regular, partial throttle and flooring it. I have a magnaflow muffler, SIDO lightning style with dual wall stainless steel tips.

The truck revs smoother and it likes rpm more than before. It isn't a completely different truck but I can tell you it feels more alive. It puts a smile on my face when I stick my foot in it and when I don't. My wife likes it and that makes it much easier to spend more money on things like a Tune, headers, throttle body, ect...

I will be able to comment on fuel economy with my next tank of gas. I want to have fun finishing off this tank of gas.

More to come as I drive it.

More of that will be coming Thursday and next week, i work hospital hours and work 6 out of the next 8 days. I will be writing, taking pictures, and video as much as I can on my days off.

I have a little inside information that I don't want to share yet, I don't want to steal anyone's thunder on that. I will say I believe This Airaide CAI will be one of the most popular very soon for our trucks as the word gets out. Im glad I got in on the ground floor.

There's another thread going already on this one if you guys are interested.

When Airaid came out with their filter / heatshield only kit for the EB / 5.0L a few months ago, I grabbed one.

Should've waited I guess.

On the plus side, Airaid is selling the parts needed to upgrade to the full kit you have for those that are interested and have the 'junior' kit.

Ordered the parts I need yesterday - Airaid was great to deal with.

Hello tex2,

It's simply a matter of personal preference. One is not Better than the other. Some prefer the standard Oil based filter, and some prefer the NON-Oiled filter that offers a bit easier maintenance.

Both will offer very adequate Airflow and Filtration.

Thanks,
David

Default Interest in possibly 2 CAI's

David,

I assume they make this system for a 5.4 motor? I have the new 5.0 and my father has the 2009 F-150 5.4 and we were gonna go and order the K&N system but reading all the posts has got me entriged.
