I would expect that any new Lightning would have the gen 2 ecoboost that is going into the Raptor, maybe tuned somewhere between the Raptor and GT versions of the engine.

#10, looks like it ain't going to happen.

I can see why it would never be in a mainstream F150 but a specialty truck is a different story. The engine that came in the Lightning and Harley was in no other F150.

They already did this more or less with the Tremor. The Lightning is not a hauling, pulling, mud or Desert truck. It is a fast street truck. The 5.2L is a V8 and makes WAY more HP but the torque is equivalent to the eco only at a higher RPM range. A factory 2200 stall and the 5.2L engine would make a very fast truck at the track. The 3.5 eco would probably need 25+ pounds of boost and would be on the ragged edge to try to keep up.

I'm thinking a 2016 regular cab, 5.2L, 2wd, 3:73 limited slip rear gear, 10 speed auto (if available at the time), the 6 spoke sport wheels that look like the 01-02 Lightning wheels and lowered 2" front and rear like the Lightning with heavier sway bars and shocks. No fancy decals just normal badging like the Gen 2 L. Not too many gadgets to add weight and cost. This could be done for minimal cost at the factory.

Maybe offer 2 options on the seating. I like the 60/40 seating for a third passenger and some like the buckets with center console. They offered a similar seating option on the 93-95 Lightning.

"Ford are you listening?"
This setup with a 2/4 factory drop & I'd be in line for one. Needs at least 4.10 gears with that RPM range though.
