Default Need Reassurance

My 2011 Ecoboost just turned over 80,000 miles, love the truck but in the last 2 months I started getting the intermittent service advance track warning, the occasional timing chain rattle when starting and last week the back window spontaneously shattered. Haven't had it to a dealer yet because I have been off work since August due to shoulder surgery and money is a little tight. Like I said love the truck but starting to get a little worried.

I understand where you're coming from with this, ArmyDoc. If you do choose to take the dealer route, feel free to use this tool to schedule an appointment for diagnosis. Please reach out to me with anything the dealer has to say; I'm happy to research additional avenues of assistance.

Where are you located? I'm sure with as many people on here they can recommend good dealerships and ones to run away from. And from some of the people I've seen on here, they might be willing to help out if you're close enough to them.

Brittany,I would like to know why a recall or a extended warranty time line has not been issued for the timing belts?

Also does anyone know why a window would just shatter?

They had a problem with the rear defroster. It's documented and I believe there's a TSB for it for replacement of part of the defrost system or whole back window. I can't remember off the top of my head what the exact problem was.

Not thrilled with the local dealer due to experiences with my employers vehicles and my last truck but am entertaining surrounding ones. Is there any talk of a recall for the timing chain issue that anyone has heard of, would definitely be nice. In Somerset, Ky by the way.

Insurance is taking care of the window, seems to be an issue only if you have power slider with rear window defrost. Hopefully the replacement fixes it.

Wonder how long if ever we get a response to my question about the timing chains from a ford rep.

I had the advance track issue on my 2011. Was a relatively inexpensive abs sensor at one of the rear wheels...

Mine hasn't done it in a while, on a bright note, Safelite replaced my window and is now warranted as long as I own the truck.
