Service....What the ????
I took my 2011 F150 Ecoboost into the Ford dealer for an oil change less than 2 weeks ago. I knew it needed an air filter so I purchased one to install myself at home (Save $10). When I get home and install the air filter I notice the coolant is below the cold fill line and obviously I'd been driving, the engine is hot. I checked the washer fluid and it's low too. They obviously didn't check that either. So now I'm getting . I get back in my truck and take it back to the dealer. When I get back to the dealer a different service writer comes out to greet me and I explain the coolant is low, doesn't look like they checked it and before I can finish what I'm saying he blerts out, "it's a closed loop cooling system, it doesn't need to be topped off." I was rather taken back, but remained calm. This next statement is the reason for this post. He then proceeds to tell me that the coolant level will rise in the overfill bottle as it cools. What the ????? I didn't even know how to respond to this.......without saying anything else he walks back to his office and then the "oil change tech" comes out and basically says the same thing. So I calmly say, when fluid gets hot it expands and therefore flow's into the OVERFLOW coolant bottle, as it cools it returns to the radiator. I couldn't believe I was explaining fluid dynamics to a mechanic. After my statement the guy goes back and gets some coolant and washer fluid and tops everything off. I'm honestly so shaken by this I don't know if I can bring myself to go back to this dealership anymore and I've been a good customer for 13 + years. It makes me wonder what else they are not checking. To make matters worse my breaks started squeaking on the ride home from work last night.....
I used to change my own fluids, but gave it up years ago, due to the price/hassle ratio. This really has me rethinking.

Sounds like it's time to find a different dealership

Took the wife's car in for service last year and the dealership warrantied a new hp fuel pump.
Fast forward 6 months and while I am changing the oil I find a loose clamp on the intake boot. Luckily no dirt made it into the 8 take but it had the chance too.
I called the service dept and they offered to clean the engine. Basically detail the engine bay. I told them I might take them up on it the next time it's in. It's not worth my time to run it over there and wait 4 hrs while they mess around with it.

To those who gave advice or voiced themselves regarding this, thank you! Your voices are all important, and I want to hear them. I might not have the answers to every question, but I can always document feedback or provide resources. I agree that being vocal when things go south is important; it leads to improvement!
This sounds like a frustrating situation, IMTALLERTHANU, and I'll make sure it's documented properly for internal review. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number. I would also consider Tothemax's advice regarding visiting another dealership, moving forward. If you have any additional questions or comments, please send them my way as well; I'm happy to do all I can to help.

Can you help me with my 2014 FX4, that has shook at any speed over 40 mph, since day one? It's been to 2 different dealers and 2 mom-n-pop shops and it still shakes. The regional Ford customer service rep has been little or no help. Documenting all this stuff is great, but if it doesn't do any good to change things, you're wasting your time!
