Default Need 60ft help

I have a 2014 f150 5.0 rcsb with roush supercharger and AED tune. I am having issues cutting a decent 60ft and I'm hoping it's just the tires I have on it. 275/50r17 m&h racemasters, it also has caltracs and a circle d 3200 stall. Best 60ft in my testing the last 2 weeks is a 1.85 and lots of 1.9xs. Will switching to a 28x10.00 Hoosier slick fix my issue. Just wondering what some of the guys cutting 1.6 and 1.7 60fts are doing different. Thanks

Suspension work is what cuts good 60' numbers.

The Caltracs are known in the Lightning world to have HP limits. Meaning once they start making big power the Caltracs just don't work as well. I'd suggest a set of long bar traction bars. JLP makes a set and Brian @ BuyStifflers.com is in the final stages if releasing a set. His have heims on each end making them adjustable as where the JLP bars have bushing which aren't adjustable and wear after some miles.

Shocks are also a big factor.

What suspension mods do you have?

Are you spinning, hooking then the rear is unloading causing you to spin? Have you datalogged to see if your getting full power(timing) from a dig?

My old truck that was lifted in 38"s and weighted 6800lbs with a Lightning motor @ 12* cut the best of a 2.0 60'. So your goal isn't asking for much if you ask me.

I have factory shocks, it has a light spin then hooks....it's not blowing the tires off. I haven't data logged yet. I've just been up there on my 91 street tune. Next time I'll be using e85 race tune.

What does the truck run in the 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile?

To answer your question, slicks or 4wd is what cut those tires. I refuse to use anything on the track that I can't use on the street so I only run street tires.

I'm gonna go ahead and try the E85 race tune and just get some slicks later to fix the 60ft. I'll have to get that better to get in the 11s

Any spin at all will usually hurt your 60ft times.

Long bars and adjustable shocks (where you can made the right side stiffer) are what you need for the suspension. You could possibly need stickier tires too.

With my Lightning, I ran long bars (stock shocks) with Quick Time Pros and had no traction problems running deep into the 12's and high 11's. When getting closer to the 10's shocks are required on a 2wd.

Start with the long bars. If that does not work go to stickier tires. It that does not work look at the shocks.

In my experience e85 huddles you out the gate much stronger so you are much more likely to have traction problems. What pulley you running?
