Got a new quad today and put it in the back. 800 lbs with gear, MPG went from 18.2 to 18.09. Not too bad at all for the extra weight.

The three stops don't count because the timer stops counting once you kill the engine. Once you start it back up it starts counting again.

Those red lights must have been awfully long.

I noticed that mine starts counting from the second the key is turned one notch. Not cranked, just switched over once. So sitting in the truck with it turned off but listening to the radio would count.

I am lost... if you sit at a light the time still counts and your mpg will drop... you're using fuel and not moving.

That is correct. The OP's time driven calculates out to more like 60 mph not the 70+ that he quotes. When someone said that the math was wrong he responded that whoever questioned him didn't take his stops and city driving into account for the time traveled. I pointed out that when he stopped for lunch, rest stops or whatever and the truck is turned off, the timer quits counting; therefore he can't use them as a reason as to why the time traveled was way longer than the time that driving 70mph would have been.
So the only way to account for his longer drive time was that he spent a very long time at those stop lights or he fibbed a little about his speed.

Yeah, if he drove 70 then he would have covered the distance in 7 hours not 8 hours 20 mins.

my ecoboost mpg numbers from my trip-v3gzsib.jpg

Was at 19.2 as I was going through a lot of small towns. Now I'm crushing at 75 and it's slowly creeping down. See to do much better at 70 , but I'm ready to get home.

2011 Screw 4x4. Bed is loaded with guns and luggage can hash wife and my dog.
