Default My 2011 EB tranny findings...(6R80)

I've had 2011 scab EB 3.55 Built 03/11 for 3 months now and I've been raeding about the 6R80 tranny being a bit "clunky" or "acting strange" at times.
I have witnessed all the "hick ups" on my own truck.

1/ 3rd to 1st downshift forgetting about gear #2.
2/ downshifting but not showing it on display.
3/ shifting from 2nd to 3rd at 1000 rpm making the engine work harder and not in its "sweet spot"
4/ weird downshift/rev high thing at 35 mph upon giving gas.
5/...

Anyway, yesterday I towed for 1st time about 3000 lbs plus weight in the truck and decided to test the tow/haul mode......

The truck run smoothly through all the gears and seems like it was in "sport mode" even with the trailer attached.
None of the 4 afore mentioned issues were noticeable. Oh and I got 14.6 MPG on city /highway mix (flat road/ 97 deg, full AC)
I liked the Tow/haul mode so much that I left it on after dropping the trailer to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Nope.
The truck felt like it had a tune....shift point were great and for city driving it seems like it would yield better results MPG wise as it it is not working that hard at 1500-2200 (shift points) instead of 1000-1500.

Hum, may be i'll drive T/H mode in city and "overdrive" on freeway from now on.

Just my $0.02.
Anyone thinks or feels the same.?
May be i'ts part of the reprogramming in the TSB???

Would love to hear your comments?

I have noticed the difference in shift points, and how the torque converter will stay locked longer. Have not played with it during normal driving but very pleased with performance while pulling my 7600# travel trailer.

Do you have the other "hick ups"?
What model? I don't think it's EB specific.

The only hiccup I have found is the occasional shudder 4-3 downshift. This is 2011 xlt, 4x4, EB, screw shortbed with 3:55's.

Downshift from 3-1 is normal operation, from what I've seen.

I have all the hiccups as well. I towed this past week and I agree that in tow/haul mode the tranny acts much better. In fact, I didn't notice any of the hiccups in over 800 miles of tow/haul mode.

These hiccups are really starting to annoy me. Hopefully Ford will come up with a flash that fixes these issues.

...or we'll have to drive in T/H mode all the time...

It is interesting to read the threads about the 3-1 shift.

I bet many vehicles do this, but since they didn't have have the display on dash, no one knew or worried about it.

Sames issues here.. Once in tow mode all issues go away..

I'll be towing long distance next week for the first time. Can't wait.
