I've had some time driving both the 87 performance street and 91 performance race tunes from MPT. Both provided a substantial performance boost over stock. Any turbo lag from a dig is eliminated. WOT is plain awesome. Hit the gas and once the tach hits 3000 rpms, the truck peels out until it shifts to 3rd. Passing on the freeway is ridiculously easy.

One thing I noticed is the transmission holds gears longer and it takes higher speed to shift to 6th when compared to stock. I had Mike make an adjustment so that it shifts to 6th at 40 mph (similar to stock) vs. 45 mph. Now the tune is perfect in my opinion.

Customer service has been top notch. Highly recommend MPT.

88 octane perf/tow tune. Yes the shifting is awesome when the tune is first installed but starts doing really weird stuff after about 1000 miles. If I go back to stock the shifting clears up and stays clear. I've gone back and forth with the tune several times and had the same result each time. The tune is awesome for a few hundred miles but its not worth going back to stock all the time just to keep the shifting reasonable.

Mike with 5* has posted that 2011-12 Eco should have there tranny PCM updated with Ford. I believe he will then update your tunes for the update.

I read that but what do I tell the dealer? There is nothing wrong with my truck and I doubt they will be willing to update it just for the heck of it. It's way too much hassle to deal with the dealers around here. Just for the record mine has been updated a couple of times but not the very newest update.

to the guys running the 93 performance... do you notice excessive black smoke out of the exhaust on WOT the first few times after start up? I talked to Mike and he said it was normal... just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this.
What were your WOT and spark degree settings? How each helped truck perform?
