Listen close to what Ken says in the MPT video. IF you have cats you'd better not let it idle for no more than 20 minutes and it would be better to not do that because I bet if you heat up and burn up the cats and damage them you will be out of a lot of money especially if you have to go through emissions to get your tags like we do.

Yes that's basically what I said. No?

Just got my email a couple hours ago, will install tonight.

I'll share the snippet they included in the email about the ghost cam part of the tune, nothing surprising here, just figured I'd share for anybody who is curious.

...

GhostCam Lope Idle Details

The truck must be fully warmed upbefore the lope will activate. When the truck is started cold, it can be drivennormally and the lope will automatically kick in when fully warmed up. If thetruck is started hot, you will need to blip the throttle to activate the lope. Then allow the idle to settle into a consistent lope, usually 2-3 seconds, andthen you can put the transmission into gear. If you forget to activate the lopefirst, the truck will stall when put into gear. It is also a good idea to turnthe AC off when activating the lope initially. This allows the idle to settlemore quickly, and once the idle is settled, the AC can be turned on.

Remember to treat this tune like atrue high overlap cam. So, long periods of idle can heat up the catalytic converters, and if they are not given time to cool off, via normal driving, they couldbecome damaged.

You may also need to slightlyalter your driving style when using this tune. There is a transition period, around 1000-1200 RPMs where the cams are transitioning from the lope profileinto normal operation mode. Operating the engine in this RPM range can causebucking and/or drivability issues. Avoid this range by applying throttle moreaggressively at lower speeds, in parking lots for example, and then allowingthe vehicle to coast with your foot removed from the accelerator. You mayalso need to apply the brakes more aggressively at a stop as the engine isidling with the lope activated. These adjustments are minor, and most peopleare able to adjust very quickly.

This is the point I was referring too as some vehicle registration requires emission testing, and you get no tags with a check engine light or code as they plug into your OBD port. So all I was saying is guys be very careful not to damage your cats because the cost is very hefty. Thanks for sharing this berty. So basically treat it like a engine with real cams and avoid staying in the transition rpm range. I go through emissions here even with my ssi 93 performance tune loaded in and it passes fine, but I would obviously not take it through with this tune if I had it as they shut the truck off and restart it too.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the tune.

What tune did you add the Ghost Cam to?

I just ordered yesterday, and tuner shipped this morning.

Trying to decide on what 3 tunes to get.

I am running the stock exhaust right now, but will do the muffler delete later this week, first of next.

I did the $50 upgrade from my previous tune with them. Its the 91 Octane Performance Street tune. Been running it with 93 Octane for a while now and its powerful!

My only concern with the Ghost Cam tune is that my muffler delete is only loud when cold, when warmed up its fairly tamed... maybe too tamed for this, we shall find out!

Post up a video if you can. I am curious how pronounced it will be.

I know in the Video that MPT has, you can even hear it with the stock exhaust for that part of the clip. Not as much though.

Being a new customer, it was only $25.00 for the add on. Worth a try.

Okay installed it last night at like 9pm (was busy earlier in the evening getting a boat home and cleaning two of them).

I've got mixed feelings about it. My tachometer was doing some weird things every now and then and when I put the truck in reverse to back into my driveway after driving around for a while, it stalled out 3 times. You either need to just let go of the brake and let the idle reverse back you in or you need to open up the throttle and back in going 20mph for it to not stall out on you. Bit of a pain, I might try it a bit more before I go back to MPT and see if there is something they can change.

It bucks at red lights... like a lot! After it gets warmed up and drive it around for a while, you go to a red light and you feel the whole truck bucking forward and backwards. It's cool, but not 7am driving to work cool lol

When I got to work and put it in reverse to slowly back into my spot it did not stall but was bucking like crazy, almost made it hard to see through my mirrors because of all the bucking.

Sound. It sounds great when I'm in park and it really gets going, but I think my exhaust might just be a pinch too quiet for something like this. I just have a muffler delete (resonator is still there). I think if I were to remove the resonator it would sound way cooler, but I will likely not.

Overall, so far I think its cool, I'm going to want to play around with it for a while before I make up my mind for sure whether I can recommend it or not.

I'll get some videos later tonight when I get home from work!

Thanks for the review. This is very much what I've imagined. I will definitely buy the tune but wait until why exhaust is worthy.

Not to sound negative, but I would like to know if others have experienced what berty has so far. I am sure most have as the email he got explained all those issues and he has experienced them. This could depend on how much stop ands start you do, but I wonder about it stalling when you are needing to pull out in traffic, that would not be good. Maybe it is a learning curve, but me personally will pass even though it really sounds cool. Plus that low rpm range is parking lot maneuvering, and I don't want my truck bucking like that. I hope it can work out for those who really want it. I think it would be cool for a once in a while showing but not daily driving, but to each his own.
