Most buyers of the STX would get the 3.7
Most buyers of the Lariat would opt for the 3.5
Bread and Butter buyers for the XLT would prefer the 5.0, but could also like the V6TT
And then there's the Harely/Raptor crowd that want something raw and don't give an F about Gas Mileage - 6.2
I think you are 100% correct on this!

I've got to say, Ford is making some SMART decisions here lately. It's kinda cool for me honestly. I would have ranked them at the bottom of my Favorites List when it came to Domestic Auto Makers - they just seemed so boring and without a substantial line-up, and arguably they still still do...but I believe that is changing.
From a marketing standpoint - their choices to include the trucks they did for the testing was genius, and was intentional as to not distract their target markets for each offering.

This article actually made me a possible buyer for all these trucks except the 3.7 - I'd buy that for my Son if he was of age.

I also think that all four engines are winners. I just wish Ford would have brought out the diesel as well. I know it would be in direct competition with the EB but we could have seen some really interesting MPG numbers with that in the mix.
