Limp mode on startup- low fuel pressure
2014 F1-fiddy 3.5L Ecoboost 140K miles.
Problem is random and I can sometimes go months without it happening. Randomly on startup after putting it in gear it will go into limp mode and struggle to move and stall out. CEL comes on- P0087 low fuel rail pressure. Have to kill the engine and if lucky it starts up and drives fine after, if not, it long cranks & I may have to restart it 3-4 times. NEVER ONCE has this happened while driving, only happens on startup going into 1st. No smell of oil in gas, plugs looks good and yes have a weep hole drilled/dual catch cans.
Fuel pump driver module, HPFP & throttle body have both been replaced with Motorcraft parts. Have a new set of 6 Motorcraft fuel injectors on hand if needed.
I’m reading there’s really likely only 3 other culprits (fuel pump in tank, injectors or fuel pressure sensor).
Anyone with first hand knowledge and advice? I’m moving in 2 weeks from AZ to OR and don’t want to get stuck in the desert or snow.
If it’s the injectors, how big of a job am I looking at?

Just mentioning this because your talking fuel.
Any chance it has to do with the fuse 27 relocation issue?
I'm not sure if it was a problem with 2014 models or not.

Remember it's not the fuse itself, it's the spring tensioned slots it goes into. Check fuse prongs for arching marks. That could be intermittent power to your pump module.
