Default More exhaust options

well seems like July is the month for everyone's exhausts to start showing up. caught this on accident a few minutes ago and hadn't seen it yet, Fastlane's Y-pipe upgrade.

as many have said it seems the stock system chokes things quite a bit and i'm sure a high flow cat setup will help quite a bit, but there's always that warranty thing.

I want! This is the way to go if you do exhaust. Add 4 inch cat back behind this set up and she'll really scream.

According to fastlane, they picked up 30 rwhp with this. But according to heartthrob, they picked up 30 with theirs too. Surely, if you install both you won't pick up 60...

i believe in my reading Fastlane made a freeflowing exhaust as well for their test truck...not sure the size of how much time went into testing things. On another part of their site, it claims THIS piece added 18hp, but in an article it was 30hp gain....so only 12 from the exhaust?

either way, it will be nice seeing whats around the corner.

30whp with no tuning? Im having a hard time believing that. It isnt choked that much from the exhaust and if it is then you wont realize those gains unless they are tuning for it. Anyway, nice piece.

figured i'd just post here rather than a new thread...

Gibson came in this morning, just waiting for my truck to get back now in a couple hours. Gibson Single side setup, they use 3" piping, so we'll see how it turns out.

sorry for the crappy cell pic

...wow, that was an easy install. only took about 25min from start to finish. Looks like the only benefit on the setup i went with from gibson is the jump from 2.5" to 3" from the main collector to the muffler, as many said the stock muffler seems pretty open, so not expecting gains from the Gibson unit. fitment was good, one hanger seemed a bit extra long, but other than that pretty straight forward. i'll have pics and vids tomorrow, gotta head to work soon.

Post a video, I want to hear how it compares to mine. It actually looks like it has an offset in the muffler. Wonder how that will effect sound and flow.

just got off work, i'll try to get a vid tomorrow but in all honesty it's so subtle i doubt my phone would pick it up. i hear a bit more turbo whine, and a tad more "rumble" sitting still...but not much.

power, it feels like the gain is right after the turbos spool and going a bit, almost like a 2nd little push around 3200 or so now. feels really good, got a bit more sounds....not bad. not sure the price on the heartthrob, but be interesting to feel the 4" setup. i run the same size piping (3") on my turbo 4cyl car, so bumping up to 4" seems to make sense.

Red face

I ran the stock 4" with cat delete and aero 4040 on my 500whp 5.9 dodge diesel and it was just fine. I think it would be overkill on a stock tt v6. Maybe if there were bigger turbos, cat deletes, and tuning it would be useful. To each there own though. I guess those that got it could alway say "mines bigger than yours" haha
