Another Ecoboost Missfire
Two years ago I had the first TSB done with the upper shield due to miss firing. The last week the issue came back and they did the new(er) 13-8-1. This morning as I was getting onto the highway I had to merge into traffic going ~65mph so I put the "power to it" and had a major miss fire and then total acceleration loss and could only go about 35mph. Had to pull over and restart the car. Really thought I might have been rear ended today. Called Ford and they said bring it in on Monday as their "Master" Mechanic isn't in on the weekends.
Has anyone had the 13-8-1 TSB done and still had troubles? What else can/will they do? I'm still under warranty (@56k miles) so I'm not wanting to drill the hole yet.

How many miles on spark plugs ever checked the gap? EB engine's very sensitive to plug condition and gap.

Here is how you fix the problem:
Drill the weep hole
Install new SP534's and gap them to .030 (use a torque wrench)
Remove the stupid intercooler blocker.

I'm afraid to drill the hole since I sill have warranty. I don't want them to void it due to unauthorized modifications. I'll check the plugs as I assume those are not part of warranty work, I haven't checked them yet. I'm at 56k miles.

I bought my 14 new and drilled the hole when I got home. I had multiple IC issues with my 2911 Eco. I just didn't want to deal with it again. In 28000 miles, still no issue. Just drill the hole.

Seriously, quit worrying about voiding your warranty and drill the hole. I've taken my truck into the dealership multiple times and they haven't said a thing. Hell you can even see the oil accumulating on the front air dam.
If your worried about them seeing it, clean it off before going in.

I took it in today and they are going to check out the plugs. I asked the master mechanic if he had heard about people drilling holes to let the moisture out of the CAC. He said he had and that he replaced one a while ago and poured 2 mason jars of fluid out of it. Ask him if drilling the hole is the right thing to do. The floor supervisor was near by, He shook his head yes and said Nooooooooh. So If he doesn't end up doing it for me, I'll be doing it when I get it back.

I've always loved Ford but this may be the last vehicle I purchase from them. I am still under warranty and the service center wants to charge me $396 to replace spark plugs! You've got to be Fing joking! The 100k miles plugs are bad due to a fault in YOUR engine design. Also I found in the Warranty Guide that plugs are covered for 80k miles in the emissions section, I'll be asking about that.
No thanks I'll replace them myself!
Any recommendations on brand/type. Also is .30 Gap correct still or is there new info on what the correct gap is.
What size hole is everyone drilling?

Plugs take literally 45 min to an hour if you are slow. No idea where they are coming up with that price.
Buy the Ford SP-534 plugs and they should be pre-gapped to about .032. If you are stock and not tuned, this is perfectly fine. RockAuto and a few other places have them for a couple bucks each.
You can easily do this yourself in an hour or less and for less than $30 bucks.
