MagnaFlow review on 6.2 Harley
After a long debate with myself about installing an aftermarket exhaust on my new ride I finally did and here are my thoughts.
Installed was MAGNAFLOW MUFFLER 5" X 8" 18" BODY 3" S 2-1/2" D Part# 12288
I retained the factory resinator and just installed the muffler. Personally after about 300 miles I love it. I would describe it as just enough. There is no noticable drone thats usually associated with aftermarket exhaust. Its just louder than stock with a good throaty sound which IMO is the way it should be stock. At highway speeds its not even noticable over stock. Below 3K it just gives it a good low throaty sound when accelerating.
Very happy with the results, I would do again.
Not sure how much difference removing the factory resinator would change the sound I figured that if I wanted more I would have the opportunity to do so later. Currently I personally wouldnt want it louder, to me its just right like it is.

That's great to hear. I'm so close to doing the same thing. Is that magnaflow a direct replacement for the stock muffler? If I don't like it, would it be easy to return to stock?

Just have the shop remove the stock muffler with from the slip joint location with the clamp just after the stock resinator. You will have to cut the two pipes exiting the stock muffer which will be the only concern. There should be no problem reconnecting them if going back stock.
