5.0l surging in gear at slow speed occationally?
I've got 2000 miles on my 5.0L now and I've had this happen a few times. I'll get in the truck and start it up and it idles fine. I back out of my parking spot, put it in forward, and try to drive slow through the parking lot holding the throttle pedal steady the engine will rev up ~500rpm and back about once every 2 seconds like a kid blippng the throttle to sound cool. It stops once I give it more throttle (bad to do in a packed parking lot) or completely come to a stop and accelerate again. It never comes back for the rest of the drive cycle. It seems to happen only once in every 10 start ups but its kinda embarrassing when a Chevy buddy is riding with though I just told him "My Horses don't like being held back"
Just wondering if anyone else had this issue? I thought it was just a computer learning issue but with 2000 miles on it now I would thought this issue would have gone away. I'm going to bring this up with the service manager when I bring it in for its first oil change next week.

I've had the same thing happen to me a handful of times. Only happened in the last 5k or so miles and I have 26k on my truck. I have noticed it only happens in my work parking garage when the truck sits for a few hours. Let it sit all day and I have never had it happen. I have no clue what could be causing it.

Mine has done it a few times. Mine does it if I throw it in gear and take off right after starting. Light pedal as you described. I noticed it has never done it if I let it idle even just 10 seconds after start up. Also, when mine has done it I have been on dirt where the ground is uneven, so I though it might just be a combo of 1st gear, a cold engine, and my foot moving just enough due to the uneven ground.

Mine was doing this when it was new too, BUT luckily for you folks, there's a TSB fix for this. I had mine done a while ago but can't remember the number. You guys can search it out or I'll try to find it tomorrow when I get to work.

Hey guys new member here. I bought a 2012 xlt two months ago and also have had this happen about 3 times now. It is always when I first start it and begin to pull away from the house. It almost feels like it is in neutral for a brief second, never does it again after the initial start. I may ask them about it at the dealer also.
