It is lower. It is a bad time for me to be without a truck. The dealer is checking TSB's and is going to look at it next week. This sucks. 15500 miles. Looks like Ford has issues with both of their volume truck motors. I'm starting to miss my 5.4.

My old 5.4 developed a lower end tap... that is why I'm in my '11!

Sorry to hear that... at least you are under warranty.

I can offer this, my 11 5.0 has had that same sound for the entire time I've owned it (bought it new). I just rolled over 100K miles and only offer that it may not be as bad as it sounds.

Let me know what you hear from your dealer, yamahatim. Feel free to contact me via PM; I'll be happy to do some checking into what I can do to help. All I'll need to get started is your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

Does it do it all the time regardless of engine temp? I noticed mine sounds a bit like that during warm-up. But at operating temp it seems to disappear. Keep us posted on what you find out.
