Default Looking at a 2011 Eco for sale that "misses under acceleration"

I'm looking for a DD kind of pickup right now as a pickup that my dad and I can both share. He runs a 12 F250 6.7 KR and I have a 16 F250 6.7 Platinum, and sometimes we need or would like a pickup, but don't want to put unnecessary miles on the big pickups.

Now this pickup that I found is a 2011 with about 98K on it, that is a farm equipment dealer salesman pickup, but on their ad, it states that it misses under acceleration. I'm cognizant of the intercooler problems, but are there other issues that could be causing this "missing" that are known? Is this issue fixable if the pickup can be bought right or is this a never ending problem child?

Even if you had to replace coils , spark plug boots plugs and drill the intercooler mod it would'nt be that expensive. Now if it's timing chain related and you had to pay someone to work on that could get expensive.

Have there been timing chain issues coming up with the Ecoboost? I had a '13 EB but have since traded for the diesel and haven't paid much attention to the EB lately.

Very few timing chain issues. Plan on replacing plugs and coils, drilling intercooler, and even possibly replacing that same side cat convertor. Drilling the intercooler may help in future after plugs/coils replaced.

I'd start with plugs and coil boots. That will cure most misfires on an EB. Drill the CAC while you're swapping the plugs and you should be good. It wouldn't hurt to scan the PCM before you buy it to get a better understanding of what might be going on.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I'm hoping that I can buy this pickup cheap enough to make it worth doing the little extra work.

Be aware that the damage to the engine (downstream components) from the shutter (CAC moisture) has been done already. If they let it go all this time, no telling what else is fouled up to the point of possible engine failure.

Thanks guys! The pickup sold on an auction last week, we ended up letting it go for $15k. We decided that was enough money to pay for someone that was being sold because it was causing them problems.
