That low mpg figure they quoted was only for one portion of the test, not overall. And it looks like was under acceleration and not a steady cruise. So what's the point in that? Or am I reading it wrong?
I agree with the above, if I was hooked up 90% of the time I might want that 5.0 or 6.2.

I own the 4.6 and have no invested bias towards either.
I do think pickuptrucks slanted it towards the 5.0 if you have any desire for towing and the EB if you plan to use the truck as an urban warrior. If you read the 5.0 review then it is clear which the writers preferred as there was nothing but praise in that review. (maybe at fault of high expectations from ford advertising??)
I think they are both great trucks and no one should ever buy for "good gas mileage".
Its such a hard decision to choose between the 2 (glad i don't have to just yet as I love the little 4.6).
ps.. Neither the 5.0 or EB is a good choice for frequent 9k lb towing. This test is atypical and I still would like to see some real world comparisons of the 5.0 and EB at around 5K lb trailer.
ps#2 two stroke for the win...sorry 4 strokers

PS: Eff CARB and their destruction of the 2-stroke, 4 strokes suck a fat one.

Not trying to start another vs. discussion, I like the 5.0 too. They didn't drive like I do so that article doesn't apply to me. I don't do bonzai runs up long mountain grades and then wonder if my mileage is good, I just maintain speed.

"If you’re going to tow a trailer regularly around geography like the Midwest, we’d suggest the 5.0-liter as a better choice. The 5.0 gets better fuel economy in that scenario."

Oscar Wilde "I dislike arguments of any kind."They are always vulgar, and often convincing."

I call a spade a spade and in addition to being a concern troll (morphing to a blatant troll), you lack the ability to form a simple argument (or type). I won't ignore you like you pleaded me to when I first exposed your BS, but I will continue to prove your arguments unbecoming of a bipedal primate.
