I understand what your saying I just got carried away with all that was said about the 93v2 and just had to have it and am glad I did it. Yes they are different devices, my cal for Livernois and sct for 5*, it is a pain in the butt to go back to stock and program the other one. If I was to choose one or the other it would have to be the Livernois, their 93 tow tune is still really good, I just like that real low end torque of the 5* for towing, my boat just weighs right around 4,000 with all gear and electronics, so I am really not pulling a heavy load and probably won't, so can't compare the 2 with a heavy load. As far as 87 tuning, I have never tried it. I have a gas station that has 93 right down road from me and love the power the 93 tuning has and can't go back. Sorry I couldn't help on that.

( if i have overlooked any other tuner please chime in.) thanks in advance
I have Mikes 5star tune and I bought 87,89,93 currently running 93 tune and my truck runs great no problems. Just hold on and smile.

I too am looking for a tune for everyday driving and towing (I have a 7x16 cargo trailer that weighs about 5000# and I pull it just about every weekend). I can't decide between 5* and Livernois. I have never heard a bad thing about either one so I'm sure I can't go wrong no matter what I choose but I still can't decide.

I've for sure considered Torrie at Unleashed tuning. I went with 5 star because Torrie didn't have any custom tunes out yet. But now that he does. All I need is 1 tune, and he only sells it as a package..

So considering Torrie right now is not an option.

Well worth it
Great post and thanks for the info.

I will be purchasing a 5* for my 2013. SCT is one of the most popular tuning devices out there. With the Livernois tuner you are stuck running only there tunes which have great reviews. More and more tuner writers will become available and most will certainly be using the SCT device. Also the documented tow testing 5* did developing their tunes is what I like most. All their tunes are tow safe, no back and forth between performance and tow tunes. My .02

I just got mine Tuesday, I went with Livernois and have no regrets. Rick is a top notch guy. Now I need to run this tank of 87 out so I can go with the 93..............
