The Miles to Empty thing is just a flawed estimate of what the computer predicts you will get.

Show us actually getting >500 or even more impressive >600 miles on one tank of gas.
That should be possible with the 36 gallon tanks.

Yeah but his "Fuel History" chart shows darn near 30mpg for the previous 30 minutes, I'd say that is some evidence that he's telling the truth, we have no evidence he's lying. My "miles to empty" has never jumped 50mpg by just coasting a few mile….though I'm going to play with that a bit to see if it's really possible. Has anybody actually ever seen that happen?

Well if you do simple math of 26 gallons times 21.5 miles per gallon, it gets you 559 miles. 575 is not unbelievably far from that number. If I were to stay on the highway at 65 for the entire 26 gallons, I'd bet I'd get well over 600 miles.

On the way from College Station, TX to St Louis, MO

Probably could have made 600 miles but I didn't know where the next gas station would be at that time of night.

Would have been ~650 miles if I had stayed at the 90% freeway/ 10% city ratio. I took the pic when the needle was slightly above the halfway hash mark just to be on the safe side of the estimate. I have the 26 gallon tank so it's roughly 25mpg. Kept it at @ 70mph with the A/C mostly off. Not bad for a V8

pretty impressive to coax 25mpg out of a V8….I haven't seen anybody do that before. Any tips you could share?
